Vitruvian Man

This is Leonardo’s representation of the perfect human anatomical canon as described by Roman architect and treatise writer Marcus Vitruvius Pollio, working some 23 years before the birth of Christ.

Long the subject of fanciful theories, this magnificent drawing has no hidden meanings; it is simply a fascinating technical-artistic diagram for painters, sculptors and architects.
