Codex Atlanticus, folio 67 abr

Triple-tier Springalds

Among the many studies on weapons carried out by Leonardo, those on springalds arranged in a fan shape are well known.

On folio 67b of the Codex Atlanticus we find a truly revolutionary solution: a war machine with three rows of springalds and a rotating machine body.

Leonardo also adds a shield to protect the machine and the artillerymen.
